  • The Professional Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ProCertTESOL) is a 150-hour TESOL program designed for aspiring and practicing educators who seek structured preparation for English language teaching in diverse learning environments. The program develops the knowledge, confidence, and applied teaching ability needed to support English language learners through responsible, learner-centered, and professionally grounded practice.

Through an integrated sequence of TESOL coursework, students examine how English is learned, taught, planned, assessed, and supported across varied educational contexts. The curriculum connects language teaching theory with practical classroom application, helping students strengthen their ability to design lessons, support learner progress, use appropriate teaching strategies, and reflect critically on professional practice.

    Academic Partnership

Upon successful completion of the program and applicable graduation requirements, students will receive the Professional Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Through the program’s collaboration with Gatehouse Awards, UK, graduates will also be conferred a Certificate of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

  • Eligibility and Admission Standards for Professional, Executive, Continuing Education, and Vocational Programs

Admission to professional, executive, continuing education, vocational certificate, and diploma programs at The American University of Science (AUS) is governed by a framework that reflects the institution’s enduring commitment to academic excellence, professional advancement, and global inclusivity. These standards ensure that every participant possesses the foundational knowledge, linguistic capacity, and professional readiness to engage meaningfully in applied, practice-oriented learning environments.

    • Educational Background – Applicants must present a recognized high school diploma or equivalent credential, confirming possession of the essential academic competencies required for advanced vocational and continuing education.

    • Language Proficiency – Non-native speakers are encouraged to demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum CEFR B2 level via recognized assessments, ensuring readiness for instruction, collaboration, and professional application.

    • Relevant Experience – Select programs may require evidence of professional or industry-related experience directly aligned with program objectives, affirming applied readiness and practical insight.

    • Competency Evaluation – Applicants may undergo preliminary assessments to validate specific academic or technical skills essential for program success.

    • Technical Capability – For digitally delivered or hybrid programs, candidates must demonstrate access to technology and digital literacy, ensuring seamless engagement with online platforms and program-specific tools.

Through these standards, AUS guarantees that professional and vocational programs remain globally relevant, academically rigorous, and strategically impactful.

Eligibility and Admission Standards for English Language Proficiency

Proficiency in English is a mandatory admission requirement for all programs at The American University of Science (AUS), ensuring academic excellence, global engagement, and uncompromised quality of instruction. Applicants must demonstrate competence through one of four pathways:

    1. Nationality-Based Qualification – Automatic eligibility applies to nationals of AUS-recognized English-speaking countries. Verification requires a valid passport or national ID.

    2. Education-Based Qualification – Undergraduate applicants qualify by completing secondary education in an English-speaking country with English as the sole medium of instruction. Graduate applicants qualify by earning a bachelor’s degree or higher under the same conditions. Official transcripts and institutional verification are required.

    3. Professional Experience-Based Qualification – Applicants may qualify with at least two consecutive years of full-time professional employment in the last ten years in an English-speaking country, where English was the primary language of communication. Employer verification and references are required.

    4. Standardized Assessment – Applicants may meet requirements by achieving CEFR B2 through recognized exams: TOEFL iBT (72), IELTS Academic (6.0), or Cambridge FCE/CAE/CPE (160). Alternatively, candidates may take the AUS EPASS, earning a Certificate of English Language Proficiency (CELP).

All evidence must be dated within two years. AUS reserves the right to request further verification.
