Mr. Robert Wenn represented the American University of Science (AUS) at the QS Higher Ed Summit: APAC 2023, held from November 7 to 9 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia. His presentation, titled “Global and International Partnerships: Bridging the Gap,” addressed the role of international collaboration in strengthening higher education.
The presentation formed part of AUS’s wider participation in the summit, which brought together university leaders, faculty members, institutional partners, and higher education professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region. The event provided a platform for dialogue on academic cooperation, institutional development, and the changing responsibilities of universities.
Mr. Wenn’s remarks focused on how global and international partnerships can help universities connect academic communities across borders. He emphasized that meaningful collaboration depends not only on formal agreements, but also on communication, shared purpose, and sustained engagement between institutions.
As a faculty member in linguistics, Mr. Wenn brought a communication-centered perspective to the discussion. His presentation connected international partnership development with the importance of language, cultural understanding, and academic exchange in building stronger relationships among universities.

The topic aligned with wider summit discussions on the future of higher education in Asia Pacific. As universities prepare students for increasingly international professional environments, partnership-building has become an important part of academic strategy, student mobility, faculty exchange, and institutional learning.
Mr. Wenn’s participation reflected AUS’s commitment to global engagement and practice-oriented education. His contribution showed how faculty expertise can support broader conversations about cooperation, communication, and the role of universities in preparing students for cross-border professional and academic contexts.
The presentation also reinforced the importance of durable partnerships in higher education. Effective collaboration requires institutions to move beyond symbolic connection and develop relationships that create practical value for students, faculty, and academic communities.
Through Mr. Wenn’s contribution at the QS Higher Ed Summit: APAC 2023, AUS continued to strengthen its presence in international higher education dialogue and to support academic conversations that connect language, partnership, and institutional development.
